Patient & Family Advisory Council

Help improve patient care at our South LA hospital

Want to share your experience at MLK Community Healthcare and help improve care for others? Our Patient & Family Advisory Council (PFAC) brings together patients, caregivers and staff to make care safer, easier to understand and more welcoming for everyone in South Los Angeles.

What is PFAC?

PFAC stands for Patient and Family Advisory Council.

It’s a group of patients, family members and community members who meet with hospital staff. Together, we talk about ways to make the hospital better for everyone.

PFAC members share real experiences — what went well, what was confusing and what needs to change.

Why your voice matters

When we listen to patients and families, we can:

  • Make care safer
  • Improve the way we explain things
  • Create better programs
  • Help more people feel seen and respected

This helps us give the best care possible to our South LA community.

What PFAC members do

As a PFAC member, you might:

  • Read and review signs, letters or flyers to make sure they’re clear
  • Talk about your care at MLK Community Hospital and our care centers
  • Help test new tools or programs
  • Share ideas to improve the patient safety and experience
  • Join monthly meetings in person

PFAC is not for personal complaints. It’s a way to improve care for all patients and families.

If you need help with a concern about your care, please contact Patient Experience.

You can apply if:

  • You got care at MLK Community Healthcare or helped someone who did
