MLK Community Healthcare’s Wound Healing and Hyperbaric Center awarded RestorixHealth’s Patient Satisfaction and Clinical Distinction awards

The national recognition acknowledges exceptional success in wound healing rates, safety goals, and excellence in patient satisfaction

Willowbrook, CA – MLK Community Healthcare’s (MLKCH) Wound Healing and Hyperbaric Center is a dual recipient of RestorixHealth’s Patient Satisfaction Award for achieving a 96% or higher national patient satisfaction score and the Clinical Distinction Award for achieving patient safety goals and an exceptional 90% wound healing rate.

The recognitions are particularly significant because the new MLKCH Wound Healing and Hyperbaric Center serves South Los Angeles, a community with a disproportionately high rate of amputation due to poorly treated diabetes.  The MLKCH center was opened in response to this crisis and is the only wound healing center in South Los Angeles to offer hyperbaric (pressure chamber) therapy, an effective, state-of-the-art treatment for hard-to-heal wounds.

MLKCH was selected from hundreds of other wound healing centers across the country for the double distinctions.  RestorixHealth, a leading wound care management company, launched the recognition program to recognize centers that have demonstrated success and meet national quality benchmarks.

The MLKCH Wound Healing and Hyperbaric Center is dedicated to optimizing outcomes and preventing lower limb loss in patients with non-healing wounds. The approach to wound care is aggressive and comprehensive, coordinating traditional and advanced therapies and techniques that are proven to reduce healing time and improve healing rates. The center is staffed with a multidisciplinary team of physicians along with nurses and technicians with advanced training in wound care and hyperbaric medicine. Integrating a team of wound care professionals optimizes patient care, while offering the most advanced healing options for the most difficult to heal wounds.

“This achievement reaffirms the quality of care the outpatient Wound Healing and Hyperbaric Center provides its patients every day,” said Dr. Babak Dadvand, the center’s Medical Director. “Despite a daunting pandemic, we have been able to maintain clinical excellence and we are proud to be the recipient of these awards that recognize the hard work and dedication of our staff.”
