LOS ANGELES, Calif., Sept. 30, 2025 - MLK Community Healthcare (MLKCH) has been recognized on the world stage with two Silver Dolphin awards at the 2025 Cannes Corporate Media & TV Awards, one of the most prestigious global festivals honoring corporate films, online media, and documentaries.
The award-winning film, produced by Venture Production Group, is a segment of the 2025 Dream Show. It follows Street Medicine outreach coordinators Juan Washington and Rodolfo Rodriguez as they connect with the health system’s most vulnerable patients on the streets of South LA. The segment won four Telly Awards earlier this year, drawing the attention of Cannes judges and eliciting an invite to apply to the festival.
Competing against more than 900 entries from 52 countries, MLKCH stood out, not only among only a few awardees from the United States but as one of only a handful of organizations to be called to the stage twice. The recognition places MLKCH alongside international leaders in storytelling such as Al Jazeera, which earned a Gold for its documentary on Gaza.
MLKCH’s work was recognized across multiple categories:
- Silver Dolphin in the category of Health, Medicine and Life Sciences
- Silver Dolphin in the category of Brand Image Videos
- Finalist in the category of Fundraising and Non-Profit
“This was a reality check moment for us,” said Dyan Sublett, President of the MLK Community Health Foundation, who attended the ceremony along with her MLKCH team in France. “Being applauded for our work by global media leaders from places like France, United Kingdom, Germany, the United Arab Emirates, and Japan was a reminder that we can be a model for health equity on a global scale. What we achieve in South LA can change how healthcare is delivered to vulnerable populations across the world.”
The awards underscore MLKCH’s role as both a healthcare provider and a storyteller—sharing the realities of underserved communities while inspiring action to support equitable healthcare.
