What is a hospital?

When MLK Community Healthcare faced an important funding vote from the LA County Board of Supervisors, our community showed up in droves at the Hall of Administration to speak on our behalf.

The outpouring of support led us to reflect on a simple but powerful question: what is a hospital?

For many, it’s simply a place to receive medical care when you’re sick or injured. But for the people of South LA, MLKCH is something much bigger and more important than what’s contained inside the walls of a hospital.

Hear from Supervisor Holly J. Mitchell, community members, and staff as they explore what MLKCH means to them.
